Honks and cheers of encouragement flowed down Monroe Street as volunteers toted paint brushes and garbage bags to help beautify the city Thursday morning.

The First Round of Foreign Ministry Consultations between Sri Lanka and New Zealand was held virtually on 08 April 2021. The meeting was co-chaired by Actg. Director General of the East Asia Division of the Foreign Ministry Rohana Ambagolla and the Divisional Manager, South, and Southeast Asia Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of New Zealand Andrew Needs.
A wide range of matters of mutual interest were discussed.
This included enhancing cooperation in multiple spheres ranging from trade, development cooperation, defence, people-to-people exchanges, and education to sports and tourism. The two countries agreed to finalize a bilateral arrangement for establishing a constructive mechanism for enhancing trade and economic cooperation and for increasing bilateral exchanges in all areas of engagement.

Beginning June 1, smoking and vaping in Falmouth will be further restricted in where and what tobacco products can be sold and by prohibiting smoking and vaping in workplaces and public places, including parks, town beaches and public streets.
The board of health on March 15 voted for the revamped regulations that also include capping the number of tobacco retail permits in town at 35. The regulations state the intent is to gradually reduce the number of tobacco product sales permits in town by denying a permit holder a renewed license if it does not reapply within 60 days of the permit expiration.
The board updated the regulations based on model regulations provided by the state and now mirror state law, Health Agent Scott McGann said.
